DISCOVERING THE MONTE CONERO (The Conero Mountain)

Marcelli di Numana – Sirolo – Camerano – LENGTH: 75KM – Difficulty: Medium

An exciting bike tour on dirt roads which will take us to discover the most evocative trails of Monte Conero. A fun track of medium difficulty, accessible even to the less experts. Fantastic trails that will guide us along the entire Conero mountain with the magnificent view of Belvedere, from which you can admire the wonderful Portonovo and the whole coast.

The second part of the tour will pass along the countryside bordering the coast, between the hills and vineyards of the Conero Riviera where a stop for a tasting of typical products of the territory is waiting for you.

AMONG VILLAGES AND UNIVERSITIES

Macerata – Mogliano – Loro Piceno – San Ginesio – Caldarola – Camerino – LENGTH: 83,8 KM – Difficulty: Medium

Both for the amount of hills and for the continuous ups and downs, the journey to discover the universities of Macerata is quite difficult. So do not take this tour too softly.

The first stop is in Macerata, in Piazza della Libertà, where you will find the University of Law, the oldest and most prestigious of the Marche region. Continuing towards the village of Sforzacosta, passing through the Abbadia di Santa Maria di Chiaravalle di Fiastra, follow the signs for Petriolo. Not far from Petriolo, you will find Mogliano, a village of craftsmen, and Loro Piceno, home of Vinocotto (“cooked wine”). After a hard climb to San Ginesio you can enjoy a little rest in Caldarola, on the shores of the Caccamo lake. A few more kilometers and you will be in Camerino, a city with a glorious history and whose University, among the oldest in Italy together with that of Macerata, is very important and prestigious.

BETWEEN THE WALLS OF MACERATA AND ITS SWEET HILLS

Macerata – Appignano – Montefano – LENGTH: 62 KM – Difficulty: Hard

From the walls of Macerata to the countryside of the surrounding villages, prepare yourself for an itinerary that is not really simple. Descending from the walls of Macerata, you will meet the village of Villa Potenza, the ancient Roman city of Helvia Recina.

Continuing to the hinterland, you will have to face several climbs before reaching Appignano. An artisan and industrial center, Appignano is known for its legumes and for the bands of the brigands of the late nineteenth century. After several ups and downs, you will arrive in Montefano, a very panoramic area from which you can see Recanati and Loreto. Just outside the town, you will be impressed by the imposing castle of Montefiore.

ON THE WAY OF THE ABBEY

Montecosaro Scalo -Trodica di Morrovalle- Corridonia – Mogliano – Fiastra –  LENGTH 68 km – DIFFICULTY: Medium

In the heart of the Sibillini Mountains the so-called Via delle Abbazie (the Abbey way) has been created, a cycling tour through history and nature along the valleys of Chienti and Fiastra.

This is a route with signs and information boards both in Italian and in English that runs along a road with low traffic density. There are also connections with the respective railway stations as the valley is served by the Civitanova-Fabriano line, where the Swing model train is suitable for the transport of bicycles.

From the stations of Montecosaro Scalo, Trodica di Morrovalle, Corridonia-Mogliano, Macerata (village Piediripa) you can follow the signs to the bike tour.
